1-ON-1 INDIVIDUALIZED DOCTORAL CARE
ESR takes pride in being a minority-owned business that provides optimal individualized 1-on-1 doctoral care for each patient/client.
During your first visit, a one hour evaluation will be performed to assess where the starting part of your rehab should begin. Based on your evaluation we can begin at any spectrum of the 4 R’s of ESR.
Each follow- up visit will be one hour long. We will continue to assess and evaluate throughout your rehab. This will help to see where in the spectrum of the 4 R’s of ESR we will need to focus more time on. This will help build up your body’s capacity, strength, mobility and tolerance to be able to return to your activities and/or sport(s).
Our foundation is based on the 4 R’s of ESR: Re-set, Re-learn, Re-load and Re-engage.
Re-set: After an injury, the body tends to protect itself by working around the injury via sub-optimal movement or by disengaging the area of injury. Here at ESR we try to “re-set” the mind/body by using manual therapy and/or education to help the client not fear their injury but build confidence to overcome their injury.
Re-learn: A simple injury like a sprained ankle can affect the way you walk and move. Teaching the body how to move optimally and efficiently is key during the recovery process.
Re-load: This is the most important part of the rehab process. This process will help build up your body’s strength, endurance and confidence by improving its’ loading capacity of the body. Muscles and tendons love load, and the best way to load the body is by lifting weights and progressively challenging the body to overcame external forces.
Re-engage: This is the fun part of rehab — getting back to your sport or activities that your injury keep you away from. At ESR, we have the facility for you to re-engage in the movements required your sport and activities. Here, we will build up your body’s capacity and increase your confidence to be able to get back on the field.
