FAQs
Why go to a cash-based vs. a traditional insurance-based Physical Therapy?
Typical insurance-based PT is volumed-based and requires each PT to see multiple patients at the same time. At times, you will only see the PT for 10-15 minutes during your treatment session. However at ESR, the PT will spend the whole one-hour treatment time with the patient/client to ensure quality of care over volume. We will go above and beyond after the treatment session to send updated exercise programs and be in contact throughout the week to ensure your recovery process is going smoothly as possible.
Wouldn’t it cost more to go to ESR?
With the continuing increase in cost of copays and deductibles, each visit at a traditional insurance-based PT clinic can cost upward of $100-150 per session. Unfortunately, higher cost does not always equate with higher quality of care. In a typical insurance-based PT clinic, patients will typically be seen 2-3 times a week for several weeks. Here at ESR, we will schedule 1-2 times per week and will ensure high quality 1-on-1 care during and after treatment sessions which will decrease your length of recovery. After each visit, new exercises will be given and we will have active discussions about progression of care to ensure that you will never have a stagnant recovery.
What does a typical session look like?
A 60 minute session typically looks like this:
8-10 minutes of manual therapy (if needed)
10-15 minutes of warm-up/ movement-specific activities/ sport-specific
30-40 minutes of strengthening and conditioning
5-10 recovery (compression boots/ percussion therapy/ e-stim)
